The most fascinating 19th and 20th century, Polish, German and Russian fortresses. We begin where World War II began, in Gdańsk and Westerplatte. We travel on to the Land of the Narew River and visit sites linked with World Wars I and II.
A Grand Tour for individual tourists: from Gdańsk airport to Warsaw airport. ITINERARY: Gdańsk - Gdynia – Hel – Kętrzyn – Gierłoż – Giżycko – Osowiec – Goniądz – Jedwabne – Wizna – Piątnica – Nowogród – Łomża – Warsaw.
Day 1 Gdańsk: transfer from the airport to the hotel, background meeting.
Day 2 Boat trip to Westerplatte, sightseeing, Gdańsk City Tour.
Day 3 Sightseeing in Gdynia, boat trip around the Bay of Gdańsk and the Hel Peninsula, return by water tram to Gdańsk.
Day 4 Travel to the Nazi concentration camp in Sztutowo and on to Gierłoż and the Wolf’s Lair (Wolfschanze), Adolf Hitler’s main bunker on the Eastern Front. “The Chronicles of Narwia” will help to while away the time on the journey.
Day 5 Two 19th century fortresses: the Prussian Boyen Fortress in Giżycko and Osowska Fortress.
Day 6 Jedwabne, Wizna, Łomża Fortress – Piątnica Fort, underground fortifications, City Tour in Łomża, Nowogrod and a walk along the Ribbentrop-Molotov line.
Day 7 Modlin Fortress, near Warsaw. Airport transfer
