The Sopot Museum was established in 2001. The original condition of the building, taking its new museum functions into consideration, was restored within the works realized during the years 2001-2006. The representational rooms on the ground floor of the villa show the permanent exhibition of the historic interiors,… reconstructed on the basis of the archive photographs submitted to the museum by the daughter of the first owner of the villa, Ruth Koch nee Claaszen in 2001-2003. Current exhibitions are presented in old bedrooms on the first floor, whereas offices and workshops are situated in the attic. Restaurant rooms have been designed in the former basement. An elevator has been installed in the building with the intention of facilitating the disabled access. The Sopot Museum – located within a distance of a dozen meters away from the beach, in an area of great interest to tourists, is a place eagerly visited by both the visitors and inhabitants of Sopot and the Tri-City.
