Gdańsk beaches have lately become famous for an exceptionally good quality of the sea water. All research have showed that the water there is of the first and the second class water quality. Moreover, during the autumn or winter periods it is a splendid place for relaxing walks. For some time now one can walk not only on the shore but also on the seaside promenade. There are also bicycle lanes marked off. Bathing places are open since mid June. There are three guarded beaches along the section of the seacoast in length (in total) of 1000 metres, they are: 400 m in Gdańsk Stogi and 500 m at the pier in Gdańsk Brzeźno . What is more, the guarded bathing place on the section of the shore of the length of 100 m has been established in Gdańsk Jelitkowo. On Gdansk beaches in summer time there are several stationary water slides open. Two of them are in Stogi, one in Jelitkowo and one in Brzeźno. There are also going to be inflatable slides for the youngest sunbathers. Moreover, for the enjoyment of children you will find inflatable air cushions there. Not to condemn the sunbathers only to fry in the sun, there are going to be beach volleyball grounds and, in Stogi, also a football pitch.

The Sopot beach occupies the area of 27 ha. Its central point is the pier which divides the beach into the northern part (towards Gdynia) and the southern part (towards Gdańsk). In total, the Sopot beach 'line' is about 4.5 kilometres long. It is a splendid place for autumn and winter walks as well as for summer basking in the sun. The whole beach is sandy. It was formed by winds and sea waves from materials coming from the cliff shore washed away by the sea in the region of Kępa Redłowska. In the summer time close to Łazienki Północne there are numerous attractions available for the youngest and you can find plenty of water equipment rental services there. The old fishing harbour is another attraction of the southern part of the beach. Looking for a shopping centre? Visit Fashion House!
