A long, high gallery was built leading from the south-west corner to the Danske or sewage-tower, which was also used for defence purposes…

The Neptune Fountain – was designed by Abraham van den Blocke. The statue was moulded in accordance with a design of P. Husen in 1615 by G. Benning II. The magnificent surrounding fencing with gold crests of Gdańsk and Polish eagles dates back to 1634. Both the shaft and the pool of the fountain were reconstructed during the second half of the XVIII century by J. K. Stender. The main source of the water streams is the trident held by the sea and ocean ruler in his right hands well as the sea horses at his feet and the plinth’s edges. You will have the best view of the fountain sculpture by looking at it from the side and the front side directions.

Spending one’s holidays at the seaside it is worthwhile to visit Wejherowo - a significant pilgrimage-Marian centre in Pomerania Region. The biggest tourist attraction of Wejherowo is the Calvary of Wejherowo - Sanctuary of The Passion with a tradition of over 350 years. Visited by throngs of pilgrims and tourists, it is called the Holy Mountains or the Jerusalem of Kashubia.  Located on morainic hills, the Calvary includes 26 chapels. According to a scientifically unconfirmed piece of information, the distances between individual chapels are the same as the distances between individual stages of the martyr’s way traversed by Jesus Christ in Jerusalem (5,936 paces). Under each chapel, there is a handful of soil from Jerusalem.

Both classical and popular music concerts are organised at the Opera, such as the Sopot Festival – a fixture on the Sopot calendar for 40 years – and the Opera Festival – organised to continue the pre-war tradition of the Wagner Festival which in the early years of the 20th Century made Sopot famous under the nick-name of ‘ Little Bayreuth’. The Opera also provides a venue for many entertainment events and one-off concerts.
