The Marinas
ADD ITEM TO YOUR GUIDE

Tricity, situated by the sea, is an ideal destination for sailors. Modern marinas offer not only places for mooring boats and yachts but also professional services. Systematic investments in development of existing marinas attract more and more tourists. Presently, Tricity has three marinas: Marina Gdańsk, Marina Gdynia and the Gdańsk Shipyard Yacht Club Marina. In 2011, an ultramodern marina in Sopot is to be open. It is to be placed by an artificial island.
Marina Gdańsk
Marina Gdańsk was opened in 1997, when Gdańsk celebrated its millenary. The 290-metre-long marina is situated alongside the Szafarnia Quay [Nabrzeże Szafarnia] of the Nowa Motława River, directly opposite the Gdańsk Crane [Żuraw Gdański]. Thus, Gdańsk belongs to an exclusive circle of cities that have marinas in their very centres. Marina Gdańsk has hosted hundreds of yachts from various parts of the world. It is a place of regular mooring for yachts participating in such events as: Baltic Sail, Hevelius Regatta, Regatta for the Cup of the President of the City of Gdańsk, and many more.
