Calling all birdwatchers! Perhaps you already know Gdańsk’s famed bird sanctuary, the Isle of Sobieszewo? Whether you plan to return to this renowned bird migration watchpoint, or visit for the first time, our hotel offers you a superb opportunity to spot such rarities as the Broad-billed Sandpiper, the Black Woodpecker, the Terek Sandpiper and even the White-tailed Eagle.
A warm welcome awaits you at Hotel Bartan, situated in the coastal region of Gdańsk on the picturesque Isle  of Sobieszewo, a site which has long drawn birdwatchers from all over Europe. The island, which lies in the Wisla estuary at the point where that great river flows into the Baltic Sea, is home of two nature reserves. Known as Birds’ Paradise and Seagulls’ Sandbank, both can be found barely 5 minutes from the hotel. It is not only the common species of gull which can be spotted here, but multitudinous species of European Tern, such as the Black Tern, the Whiskered Tern and the Caspian Tern. In the autumn, encounters with veritable colonies of Little Gull are a given, while winter brings numerous species of Diving Duck and Merginae.
Two coastal lakes lie within Birds’ Paradise, providing a breeding ground for the Eurasian Bittern and the Common Crane, while the reserve’s outer reaches are home of the Black Woodpecker and the Middle Spotted Woodpecker. Breeding birds such as the White Stork and the Greenish Warbler can also be seen on the island.

The package includes:
• Accommodation for 4 nights in a comfortable single or double room
• Buffet-style breakfasts and 3-course evening meals
• A one-day, guided birdwatching trip to the Birds’ Paradise Reserve
• A one-day, guided birdwatching trip to the Seagulls’ Sandbank Reserve
• A one-day, guided birdwatching trip to the Cormorant Reserve
• Lunch boxes for each of the trips
