Undoubtedly, one of the greatest merits of Danuta Baduszkowa, also called the inspirer of Polish musical development, was the introduction of Polish repertoire onto the stage in 1967 by performing the premiere play of "Panowie z ogłoszenia" by Jacek Korczakowski and Stefan Rembowski. At first they adapted well known novels such as "Ogniem i mieczem" by Henryk Sienkiewicz, "Kariera Nikodema Dyzmy" by Dołega -Mostowicz,"Czterej pancerni i pies" by Przymanowski or "Dzielny Wojak Szwejk" by Haszko. Then the repertoire was enriched with original Polish musicals, written especially to the order of the Gdynia stage, such as "Kaper królewski" by J. Tomaszewski, "Madagaskar" by R.Damrosz, as well as "Pan Zagłoba" by A.Bloch.
Looking back from the perspective 50 years later , we can notice that the Gdynia Music Theatre consistently succeeded in realizing this "individual Baduszkowa' s idea of a musical theatre". What is more, there were also names of well known Polish artists, authors and performers such as Ernest Bryll, Wojciech Młynarski, Jerzy Wasowski, Jeremi Przybora, Adam Hanuszkiewicz, Jerzy Stuhr, Leszek Możdżer, Grzegorz Turnau, Justyna Steczkowska, or Robert Janowski. They also performed world's hits such as "Fiddler on the Roof", "Evita", "Hair", "Chicago", and "Fame"... There were also signifiant plays considered to be outstanding performances such as the renown "Kolęda-Nocka" by Bryll, "Jesus Christ Superstar”, "Nieszpory ludŸźmierskie", trans-opera , "A Midsummer Night's Dream", ("Sen nocy letniej"). It is also worth mentioning that there have also been original realizations of the ballet "Opentaniec", or hip-hop "12 ławek".
